“Painting has changed and enriched my life so much. Every day, I’m so grateful to the many generous artists who have helped me along the way in my exploration and study, and I’m happy to work with you on your personal creative journey. Come on, let’s paint and learn!” - Karen
Karen will show you how she creates an original oil painting form start to finish. She will take you slowly though the basics of choosing a proper photo (that you or she owns the copyright to) to paint from, setting up the preparing the canvas, creating exciting compositions, studying color mixing, completing a quick lay in, and applying the lights that make a painting pop. If you’re an intermediate or advanced student and have a particular aspect of your painting you want to improve, bring it! We’ll work on it.
Karen works in an impressionistic manner and will share her techniques and inspiration step by step on her own painting as you work on yours step by step. This simple, proven method works well in a private one on one setting for both the rank beginner (even someone who has never painted) to the professional. Usually she uses a 8x10 or similar size.
