See the South through fresh eyes (and full stomachs)
The Southern Fork Experience: Charleston
Immersive Culinary Travel in the Jewel of the South Carolina Lowcountry
October 3-6, 2024
Our friends at the Southern Fork are hosting an immersive Charleston experience focused on the Food of the Lowcountry.
This trip will have you diving into the food that makes our community so special.
"Charleston, SC has been a seat of Southern culture for close to 500 years, but defining it can be as mercurial as the tides. So we start at the table with the ingredients that built it -- seafood, rice, corn, and pork -- and use those as a jumping off point to dig into a delicious region beyond the restaurant reservations." - The Southern Fork
During your trip you will also get to experience harvesting oysters at low tide with lifelong oystermen just like in the paintings by Olessia Maximenko.
"The salt marsh is the engine that fed Charleston’s ascension to wealth, status, and culinary stardom, but tides and time wait for no man" - The Southern Fork
After experiencing the wild places that inspire Mary Edna Fraser's work as you be able to spend one-on-one time with the artist. Mary Edna is a Charleston environmental activist, working to preserve the beauty of the Lowcountry and the spaces that inspire all of us.
